In a significant development for India’s geospatial technology sector, CE Info Systems (MapmyIndia) has reported a 4% year-over-year increase in consolidated net profit, reaching INR 32.32 crore for Q3 FY25. The company’s performance highlights the growing demand for digital mapping solutions across enterprise and consumer segments, while also marking a strategic shift in its business approach.
The Chennai-headquartered company’s revenue from operations witnessed a robust 24% growth, climbing to INR 114.54 crore from INR 92.02 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. This growth was primarily driven by its Consumer Tech and Enterprise Digital Transformation (C&E) segment, which saw a remarkable 39% surge in revenue to INR 65 crore.
In a notable turnaround, MapmyIndia has reversed its earlier decision to spin off its B2C business, instead announcing plans to strengthen its consumer-facing operations through the Mappls app and gadgets. This strategic pivot comes after the company faced significant investor pushback following its initial announcement last month about CEO Rohan Verma’s planned transition to lead a separate B2C venture.
“Our strategic focus on deepening customer relationships and expanding our technology stack has yielded positive results,” said Rakesh Verma, Managing Director of MapmyIndia. “The significant deal with a major global social media network and our expanding presence in quick commerce and BFSI sectors demonstrate the versatility and growing adoption of our solutions.”
The company’s financial metrics paint a picture of steady growth, with EBITDA increasing by 15.7% to INR 41.7 crore, though EBITDA margin saw a slight contraction to 36.4% from 39% in the previous year. The Automotive & Mobility Tech (A&M) segment contributed INR 49 crore to the revenue, marking a 9% growth over the previous year.
MapmyIndia’s ambitious growth targets include reaching the INR 1,000 crore revenue milestone by FY27/FY28, with a projected CAGR of 35-40%. The company plans to achieve this through enhanced technological capabilities, expanded software products, and deeper customer engagement across both enterprise and consumer segments.
For Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem, MapmyIndia’s performance and strategic decisions carry significant implications. As one of the region’s prominent technology companies, its success in bridging enterprise and consumer markets could serve as a blueprint for other startups in the geospatial and SaaS sectors. The company’s ability to secure major enterprise clients while maintaining a consumer focus demonstrates the potential for Tamil Nadu-based companies to build globally competitive, multi-segment businesses.
The company’s renewed commitment to its B2C operations, coupled with its strong enterprise performance, positions it as a key player in India’s digital transformation journey. As cities across Tamil Nadu embrace smart city initiatives and digital governance, MapmyIndia’s comprehensive approach to geospatial solutions could create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation within the local tech ecosystem.
